Projects

These are some of the projects I've worked on in the past.

ESNM [@colef.mx]

Developed a web system with applications related to population and migration studies as part of a research project (No. 16506) funded by CONACYT and INEGI (institutes of the federal government). Helped in the design and implemention of an algorithm to estimate population and net migration between Mexican states using data from the national census, and administrative registries for births and deaths.

InCense [github]

My master’s project at CICESE, InCense, a toolkit to facilitate contextual data gathering from a population of smartphone users. It includes a mobile application, a desktop application and a database. The mobile application was developed using the Android platform. This application stays running the programmed time, sensing and saving data from the accelerometers, GPS, microphone, Wi-Fi, NFC and other “sensors”. It also triggers surveys to users based on different events. If you want to know more about this project you can read some of my publications about it or contact me.
